Jungsters day out

Sunday, September 21, 2014

Finally got to visit the Anaheim Packing District with my lovely sister yesterday! As you know, I love me some food haha.. This place has such a great selection of food and sweet treats. It's a beautiful little hipster hang out. While so many of the places enticed us, we chose to have our lunch at The Kroft. I was very satisfied with their take on American comfort food. In an effort to save room in my belly so that I could try more goodies, my sister and I shared the short rib melt, the garlic fries and a cucumber mint lemonade. It was all delicious! I stunk of garlic for the rest of the day, but it was worth it. I wanted to try a crepe from Crepe Coop as well, but sadly after my meal, I was so stuffed. We couldn't leave however without trying Popbar! The line for this place remained long the entire time we spent there. I got watermelon half dipped in white chocolate with almonds and Jess got pistachio with milk chocolate and almonds. We were overwhelmed with all the flavors. I wanted to try them all. Jess and I liked the watermelon better than the pistachio, but still both were good. Can't wait to go back and treat myself to more deliciousness... XO

Meet my adorable nephew Everett ^

We donut care

DONUTS! What a come back they are making. My IG is flooded with donut posts. The other day I indulged in some " fonuts, " I had heard about this donut shop a while back, and decided to give it a try! I really liked that some of the donut selection was vegan and gluten free! The flavors we got were: blueberry earl grey, coconut passion fruit and Hawaiian. They were all on the sweeter side, but flavor wise spot on! Of the three we tried, I liked the Hawaiian the best, the coconut custard filling was yummy and not too sweet. Although, I'm glad we had them for dessert rather than for breakfast. Im always a sucker for some unique sweet treats! We donut care for boring! XO

Rachel Rates It

Guess what! I finally did it, I got myself a gym membership. I 've probably told myself that I'm signing up for a gym membership everyday for the last year. I took my first Zumba class yesterday and boy am I sore today! Power to the chicks that go to the gym on the reg. Having said that, I feel terrible about presenting to you this most delicious food photo diary. I just can't resist; You must be aware of some of the yummy goodness I've been eating lately.

Blu Jam (Melrose location) : Hands down the BEST french toast I've had in a long time! The eggs Benedict was also so delicious. The food here is a great delight! The only negative is the wait for a table, as they are always so busy!

The Hart and the Hunter:  Wow, the food is incredible! Featured here is the kale salad and the chicken cracklings sandwich, both were excellent. This place has a super small menu but delivers. I wont be surprised if it becomes one of my regular spots.

9021 PHO (West Hollywood location) : Usually for pho you can go to any whole in wall and you'll be satisfied with what you get. I recently tried this place out, simply because of its proximity to me and I'm glad I did. I really love the broth they use for their pho. Awesome comfort food for a reasonable price.

Kettle Glazed : This donut place has some good donuts. The maple bacon one is the best in my opinion. The donut featured is the pistachio cronut they only feature on Tuesdays. I didn't particularly love it so I prob wouldn't return for it. Although they do have regular cronuts as well that are pretty decent. I haven't found a good cronut in LA. If you have any suggestions, let me know I'd love to try em out! XO
