Hey there!
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday! Christmas is over and now everyone has moved onto the next thing.. the New Year! In the past, I've always sorta dreaded the New Year. It meant Christmas was over, that I was going to be another year older, and it was another reminder of what resolutions I had not really met. I've always tried to set some new year resolutions, but I conveniently forgot about them in time haha. 2013 had it's tough moments for me, but I'm proud of how much I've grown.
I'm feeling good about the prospect of this new year! I'm already under the impression that this year is going to be amazing! I'm so excited for 2014! My main resolution this year is TO BELIEVE IN MYSELF.  I'm convinced that this is a good resolution for us all. I'm so fortunate to have an amazing family and great friends that support me and push me to follow my dreams! This year I need to stop doubting my abilities and my talent. I need to pursue my passions! What about you, what are your resolutions for 2014?

I hope you all have a safe and Happy New Year! I'm wishing you the best in 2014! XO

Plaid is Rad

PLAID has made its comeback! I've always been a fan of plaid, it's such a versatile print that can come in so many color combinations. I paired this scarf with a very simple outfit to add color and warmth.

Happy Friday...THE 13TH :P

Friday, December 13, 2013

Despite how chilly its been lately, today was surprisingly sunny and beautiful!
It's sometimes hard for me to get up and get dressed when its so chilly out. This is an easy, casual everyday look, that anyone can mimic. I like that it covers me up, but still allows me to be feminine and sexy. The knee high boot gives a sexy touch to this outfit. What do you guys think?

Who you calling a FATTIE :)

Ok so here's the deal, I eat out.... I eat out a lot. My busy, on the go lifestyle, truly limits my home cooking. I know it's bad for you, but lets be real, it can be quite enjoyable. Since my move back to LA, I've frequented a few new spots and they have become my favs.

BOTTEGA LOUIE - What a wonderful restaurant! I loved everything about it. The architecture and design of the restaurant was so bare but beautiful. I love that all the walls are white, makes for great lighting. Reasonably priced, yet somehow I felt like I was splurging.
The desert bar is to die for; not only pleasing to look at, but delicious as well. I like the eclairs! The macarons there are overly hyped. Lette macarons or La Duree are the only way to go when it comes to macarons :)
The only negative for me was that there was no parking, its not easily accessible.

SUGARFISH BY SUSHI NOZAWA - This place has become my absolute FAVORITE sushi restaurant. I can't believe I'm barely discovering it. It was JIRO DREAMS OF SUSHI, that sparked my interest in the art of sushi and prompted me to look for a restaurant that is considered to uphold such a standard. TRUST ME menu all the way! The Studio City location is the best of all its locations, but be prepared to wait for a table.

THE BOILING CRAB- I gotta say, it was a fun experience! I got to wear a bib and eat with my hands. I'm a seafood lover too, so this place truly was a delight. I was kind of grossed out by the shrimp still having their heads but all in all, it was awesome!

FIG AND OLIVE - Honestly this place has such amazing food. I love almost everything on the menu that I've tried. My absolute favorites are the Sea bass and the Fig and Olive salad. Although this restaurant is a little more pricey than the others, it's totally worth it.

Happy Eating! XO

HOLLYHOOD

Sunday, September 1, 2013

I call HOLLYWOOD my new home.
I did it, I moved back to LA! I was fearful and it took me some time, but I'm here now! I never realized how little I know about the ins and outs of this city. I long to rediscover it and truly make it my home. It's only natural that I belong in a city of FASHION, FAME, BEAUTY, ... oh and FOOD lol
A new chapter in my life is about to begin and what an adventure it will be. Following in the theme of the name RATEDRACHEL, I have decided to rate more of my discoveries and experiences.

Casual Chic

Wednesday, May 29, 2013

It doesn't take a lot to change up a simple black dress. I paired this American Apparel Nylon Tricot halter dress with two different items. Worn with these high heel sneakers, these looks are very casual chic! If you simply changed the shoes to pumps, you'd be all set for an evening look.

Friendship..

Saturday, May 11, 2013

Recently I've been faced with the hardships of friendship. Why is it that friendships among woman are so hard to maintain? Men just squash their beef and move forward, and that is perhaps why their friendships are much stronger. Woman hold grudges, spread gossip and are hurtful. I just don't understand why woman do that to themselves. Friendship is important in life.
I've always only had a handful of friends, and kept them close to me. I believe that true friendships endure. I consider myself to be a great friend and I'm unwilling to let go of a friendship that I have invested myself in, especially over petty things. I genuinely care about the friends I have, and would do most anything for them.
So lately, I've been distressed about how my friendships are falling apart. What I thought to be great friends of mine, may not have been. It's troubling to think that someone doesn't care about your friendship as much as you do. I found that its important to communicate your feelings... After all, true friends are real with one another. If you cant be honest with your friends, who can you be honest with. We all fight but in the end, its not worth losing someone you care about. XO

ALL BLACK

Wednesday, March 27, 2013

I've been wearing a lot of black lately. I'm in love with the leather trend right now. It reminds me to be wild and rebellious hehe.. I feel edgy and bad, its almost empowering!

Here I'm wearing a "pleather" peplum top from Arden B, Black leggings from American Apparel, black flats from Aldo and sunnies by Dior.
