Coachella Lookbook Part 1

Tuesday, March 31, 2015

Every year towards the end of march, I find myself shopping for my best Coachella outfit. Very much a California girl, I think Coachella has become the home for festival fashion inspiration. Whether the line up is amazing or just sub par, you can always count on a perfect weekend of music, fashion, and friendship. As far as the fashion, there are so many different styles that I feel exude the same energy. Whether it's Grunge, Raver or Bohemian, for me it all captures a sense of FREEDOM. Personally when I'm considering what I should wear, I think style and comfort. Spending the whole day on the festival grounds means you will have to deal with the blistering heat, as well as the cool nights. I can still look amazing while not having to worry about blisters, or wardrobe malfunctions. Swing dresses, fringe, hats and short shorts seem like good choices to me. My friend Sophie and I have put together a lookbook that captures the essence of festival season. XO

Shorts are in order

Sunday, March 29, 2015

I finally got myself a pair of vintage levi shorts. Granted they are a little big for me, I still like them. They are super comfortable and I actually don't have to worry about my ass hanging out in these ones. I think this summer, I'll have to get myself a few more pairs of shorts, they are really great for those LA scorchers. XO

Coco made me do it

I need a new black handbag. I've come to the realization, that I don't have a simple black purse that goes with everything. A classic everyday bag is needed, don't you think? Searching for the perfect one has been quite an ordeal and I still have not decided which to splurge on. The first designer black handbag I ever wanted was the Balenciaga "City". I still love the bag but over time my style has evolved and I no longer feel it's the right fit. I've lusted over Gavriel Mansur, Celine, Ysl, Chloe and Goyard. Are they all just trendy, until something new comes along though?! Chanel on the otherhand I would have to say is classic and timeless. I've been eyeing the Chanel Boy bags for quite some time. One things for sure those Chanel Bags are definitely not in my price range. I have found however that their handbags don't depreciate in value much. I guess the simple fact that I have chosen Chanel is an indication of my maturity. Chanel was made for the fashionable woman, not girl. So what do you guys think, should I bite the bullet and whip out that credit card?!! Well maybe for now I'll continue to lust over it, and splurge for my bday in a few months...well see how long that decision lasts. XO

Shirt Dress

Thursday, March 26, 2015

I've been obsessed with these heels since Valentine's day. I just think they are the cutest! I love the pop of color they add.  Here is a quick snap of yesterday's outfit. It was so hot in LA, that this white shirt dress seemed like the perfect ootd. It's hard to want to wear anything really, I just want to lay at the beach all day! I have a major travel bug right now. I'm seriously craving a vacation somewhere beachy! What about you guys, where do you want to travel next? XO

My Post Haircut

Monday, March 23, 2015

Hello lovebugs!
These photos were taken the day before my haircut. I'm missing the long locks! I thought that after my haircut I was going to be ecstatic but on the contrary, I was almost in tears. It didn't turn out like I had wished. Is it common to have regret after a big hair change? I have yet to find "my hairdresser" because of many horror stories, so through my co-workers referral, I opted to go to a reputable beverly hills salon. I knew I would pay more, but I thought at last I'd be amazed and in love with my new hair. Needless to say $500 dollars later, (yes $500!) I hate my hair! my highlights look really ashy. I hate saying this but I feel like they look so 909. I contacted the hairdresser, and she has agreed to fix the color. Now my concern is that I still will not be satisfied. I've never paid this much in my life to get my hair done and I feel as though in this case, I should love it .. we shall see.. xo

Fun in the Sun

Wednesday, March 11, 2015

First time visiting El Matador beach yesterday and I gotta say it's definitely worth the trek. I always used to go to Zuma Beach and I never realized how close it is to there. El Matador is a bit more scenic than Zuma and seems to be less crowded as well, at least during the weekdays. We did a lot of rock climbing and there are a lot of stairs that can easily be turned into a workout if you wanted to get a little workout in and then take a dip to cool off. Gotta love the LA weather as of late, kinda leaves me lusting for it to be summer already. Although NGL, I'd like to get my ass in the gym a little more before it actually arrives. XO

Haircut Decisions

Sunday, March 8, 2015

When you want to change up your look, the first thing that you think to change is your HAIR! Sometimes this can be amazing and other times you may regret it. I've always been pretty safe with my hair because I'm super low maintenance with it and also because it can get costly. As of late however, all I've been thinking about is how my hair is so boring and flat.. I've been toying with the idea that I'll get highlights for summer. I've always thought that as a dark haired brunette, it's risky to get highlights because they can turn out looking trashy though. I secretly envy blondes for this reason. So without the option of dying my hair, my only recourse would be a cut. First things first, I've searched the Pinterest for inspo and this is what I have come up with. Stay tuned to see what I end up getting done, eeeeeeekkkkkk (I'm so scared.)

I know these shorter cuts aren't too drastic, but they are definitely an option for me right now:

Not So Slutty

Saturday, March 7, 2015

The last time I visited Grand Central Market in DTLA was about 6 or 7 years ago. It wasn't quite what it has become today. The boyfriend and I decided to try out Egg Slut and so that is what sparked the long overdue visit. Egg Slut has been on my list of "must try places" for a short while now. I've heard only good things and was curious to see what all the fuss was about. I must say that I probably wouldn't wait in line again to eat there. It definitely wasn't slutty enough for me. I actually thought it was somewhat basic, over-rated and whatever. NGL, I was a bit disappointed. While we were there I stumbled across a little ice cream spot called McConnell's; they had some unique flavors and it saved the day haha. What do you guys think? Any other suggestions of places I should try? XO
